The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has disbursed N1.57 billion to Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres that handled the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination registration.
This was revealed in a bulletin issued by the Board and signed by its Public Communication Adviser, Fabian Benjamin.
According to the Board, the payment represents the N700 service fee collected on behalf of CBT centres from candidates during the UTME registration process. JAMB explained that the fee is collected alongside the ePIN registration charge and is remitted directly to accredited CBT centres on a weekly basis.
The Board noted that the system has helped reduce cases of exploitation and the imposition of illegal charges on candidates. It added that the process has also strengthened the cashless registration system, especially since many of the CBT centres are privately owned.
JAMB stated that candidates who purchase the UTME ePIN are not expected to make additional payments at CBT centres and can complete their registration at any accredited centre nationwide.

To ensure transparency and compliance, the Board also reaffirmed its “No View, No Pay” policy, which allows payments to CBT centres only after verifying that the candidates registered are valid and visible in its registration database.
The policy, according to the Board, is aimed at preventing registration irregularities and ensuring accountability throughout the process.
Registration for the 2026 UTME ended on February 28, while the examination is scheduled to hold nationwide from April 16 to April 25.
Meanwhile, Direct Entry registration, which began on March 2, will continue until April 25, 2026.
