NYCN Hails Port Harcourt Mayor, Lauds Tinubu’s Focus on Peace

The Rivers State chapter of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) has showered encomiums on the Mayor of Port Harcourt City Local Government Area, Sir Allwell Ihunda, describing him as a model of exemplary leadership and grassroots development.

Paying a courtesy visit to the mayor’s office, NYCN Rivers State Chairman, Dr Nwisabari Bani Samuel, praised Mayor Ihunda’s unwavering commitment to youth inclusion in governance and his dedication to the welfare of Port Harcourt residents and the state at large.

The delegation, including the Rivers State NYCN Organising Secretary and Etche LGA Executive Vice Chairman Hon. Faith Onyesoh, presented the mayor with a prestigious honour: the title of Patron of the NYCN Rivers State Chapter in recognition of the Mayor’s role as a reliable ally in advancing youth development and progressive policies.

Dr Samuel highlighted the mayor’s administration as one that consistently prioritises people-oriented initiatives, fostering collaboration between youth groups and government for sustained peace and growth in Rivers State.

The NYCN leader seized the occasion to extend profound appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for his administration’s special attention to Rivers State.

He urged Governor Sir Siminalayi Fubara, GSSRS, to sustain efforts toward peace-building by engaging all stakeholders, asserting that “no price is too high for enduring harmony and development in Rivers.”
