Legendary ‘Kabiosi’ Singer Passes On At 81

Gospel music icon and renowned worship leader Ron Kenoly has died at the age of 81. He passed away on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, bringing to an end a decades-long ministry that shaped contemporary Christian worship across the world.

The news of his death was confirmed through an online statement released by his longtime music director and manager, Bruno Miranda. The statement was shared on Kenoly’s official social media platforms and quickly spread across the global gospel community.

In his message, Miranda described Kenoly as far more than a musician, stressing that he lived his life as a worship leader whose purpose was to draw people into the presence of God.

He wrote that working alongside Kenoly for over two decades was not just a professional journey but a deeply personal one, describing himself as a son, student, and witness to a life marked by faithfulness.

Miranda explained that Kenoly never viewed himself as an entertainer or artist, but as a servant whose calling was to lead people in sincere praise. According to him, Kenoly believed worship should always be rooted in gratitude for what Christ has already done, not as a tool to demand anything from God. He concluded the statement by noting that while the world mourns, Kenoly has now entered into the eternal worship he lived for on earth.

Ron Kenoly was widely celebrated for his energetic and spirit-filled worship songs that became staples in churches around the world. His music transcended cultural and language barriers, making his ministry especially impactful in Africa and other parts of the global church.
