The Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara has commended the Headquarters 6 Division Nigerian Army for hosting its Combined West African Social Activities, WASA for the year 2025 describing it as a celebration of unity in Cultural diversity.

The Governor who was the Special Guest of Honour was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Benabor Anabraba emphasized the importance of partnership and support for maintaining peace and protecting national assets in River State.

” It is indeed a privilege to be among you, among the Army, among the Security Agencies here present, and the Military in particular. Outside the uniform, we have seen that the Army is indeed a family. And this WASA underscores the fact that outside the uniform, we are all a family at first instance, both biologically and occupationally.

“For us as a government in River, or the government of River State, we want to appreciate the Army and the Security Agencies for all they have been doing in keeping the peace and protecting the territorial integrity of Nigeria, including the national assets that are within the River State territory.

“We will continue as a government to partner with the Military to ensure that there is peace and order, just as we have done earlier before now, in celebrating those who have sacrificed, and even those who are still serving the nation as members of the Military formations.

“As a government, we will continue to support you with equipment, logistics, transportations, and all that we can to ensure that your operations in River State are indeed top-notch. “This event gives us opportunity to celebrate the end of a year. For us, the end of an operational year. Which started from January last year to the end of December.

“The social activities give us opportunity to socialize, to interact with our members of our families in a relaxed atmosphere while we invite our friends and acquaintances to join us. As we mark the end of the year, we recognize the progress we have made and the challenges we overcome during the year.

“Our collective efforts in fostering peace, security and development have laid a foundation for brighter future. Let this season remind us of our shared responsibility to build a region where stability, opportunity and harmony thrive for each and every one of us” the GOC stated.
