It may be a triumphant entry for Nigerian internationals, as Marco Silva, the head coach of Fulham FC is eager to welcome back Super Eagles stars Alex Iwobi, Calvin Bassey, and Samuel Chukwueze following the conclusion of their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations campaign.
Fulham have been very consistent in the English Premier League, despite losing three of their best players, losing just one of their last seven matches without their Nigerian contingent.
The head coach of Fulham, Silva has admitted that the return of the trio, all of whom were in exceptional form before departing for Morocco, will be a massive boost for the final four months of the season.
Before 2025 African Cup of Nations tournament, the three Super Eagles stars had become integral to Silva’s starting XI. Most especially, Samuel Chukwueze, he left West London on a high after a breathtaking performance in Fulham’s narrow 5-4 defeat to Manchester City in December.

Samuel Chukwueze, who is pinpointed as one of the best playmakers in African football, has been criticised for his penalty miss against Morocco in the AFCON semi-final, came from the bench to score a stunning second-half brace that nearly inspired one of the greatest comebacks in Premier League history.
At the moment, the head coach Marco Silva delighted to welcome back Bassey, Iwobi, Chukwueze
Silva emphasized how much the squad’s ceiling rises with their return, while speaking ahead of Fulham’s clash with Leeds United.
“This is the last game the three players at AFCON will miss…,” Silva said. “As a matter of fact, you know that when you have all the squad available, you’re going to be stronger as a team. Like when Kenny, King or Muniz will be back – they will be very important for us.”
The Super Eagles of Nigeria wrapped up their African Cup of Nations journey with a third-place play-off against Egypt on Saturday. With the tournament now behind them, Bassey, Iwobi, and Chukwueze all returned back to London together immediately.
The timing is very ideal for the Fulham coach Marco Silva, as the trio should be fully available for selection when Fulham hosts Brighton at Craven Cottage on January 24.
