Eleme Council Boss Renews Commitment to Corps Members

Chairman of Eleme Local Government Area of Rivers State, Hon. Ollormate Ollor has reaffirmed his commitment to the welfare of corps members posted to the LGA, with the renovation of dilapidated Nigerian Christian Corpers Fellowship, NCCF transit corps lodge.

The renovation included repairs and replacement of dilapidated toilet facilities, doors, locks, windows, nets, as well as repainting.

Ollor also procured 15 new mattresses for corps members use, with a promise of an additional 25 mattresses, standby generator to ease power challenges, especially in the area of pumping water from the borehole.

Speaking on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, the LG chair also pledged to mobilize local vigilante to ensure the safety of lives and property of the corps members in the lodge.

Ollor further directed the Divisional Police Officer of Eleme, to provide adequate surveillance and security cover for the lodge.

He also assured the corps members that, “my administration will not rest on its oars until the magnificent, state of the art central corps lodge under construction by my administration is completed and inaugurated.”

He also reassured them that, “your welfare and security will remain the topmost priority of my administration, especially considering that corps members are the most elite youths and the successor generation in leadership who must be treated as the nation’s prized assets.”

Overwhelmed by the gesture, the State National Youth Service Crops NYSC, Coordinator, Mr Moses Oleghe, commended the Eleme chair for giving the corps lodge a facelift.

Oleghe who noted the the building was wearing  a new look, revealed that the LG chair had directed that the lodge undergo comprehensive renovation to make it fit and habitable for human occupation.

Speaking on behalf of Oleghe, the Eleme LG Inspector, Mrs. Onyinye Ihemawuluotu, thanked the council boss for what she described as his intentional commitment and passionate interest in the welfare and well-being of corps members.

She assured him that the gesture would, “spur the chairman and the good  people of Eleme that the corps members are motivated to do more in rendering quality and quantitative selfless services now that they have a decent accommodation to lay their heads.”

Ihemawuluotu appealed to the Ollor to expedite action on the completion of the central corps lodge in order to cater to the surging accommodation needs of the corps population serving in the LGA.
