Cult Clash Claims 3 Lives In Rivers

Kidnnaper

A resurgence of cult violence seeking dominance has resulted in the deaths of three individuals in the Oyorokoto community, located within the Andoni Local Government Area of Rivers State.

Reports indicate that the cult members, in pursuit of their adversaries, invaded the largest fishing settlement during the early morning hours of Tuesday, resulting in the fatalities of the three individuals.

A community source reported that the alleged cultists arrived in a speedboat, went straight to the residences of their intended targets, and executed the killings.

It is worth noting that an individual was reportedly slain in Ngo on Monday, while another was killed in the Unyegala community on Sunday.

This situation has escalated tensions in the region, leading some residents to abandon the affected communities within the local government area.

In the meantime, Superintendent Grace Iringe-Koko, the Public Relations Officer for the Rivers State Police Command, previously confirmed the deaths of two individuals in Ngo and Unyegala communities, linking the violence to a struggle for power between two cult factions.

She mentioned that efforts are underway to capture the perpetrators, but she could not verify the incident that occurred on Tuesday at the time of the report.

Jonathan Enyina, the Chairman of the Obolo Youth Coalition in Rivers State, expressed his condemnation of the killings in a statement issued on Monday.
