NSCDC CG Charges Newly Trained Officers to Deploy Tactical Skills for Internal Security, VIP Protection

The Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, mni, OFR, has directed the 208 officers who completed the second batch of the VIP Proficiency Course 002 to immediately apply their newly acquired advanced tactical skills to bolster internal security operations, enhance Very Important Personality (VIP) protection services and strengthen emergency response capabilities across the country.

Speaking at the Passing-Out-Parade held at the Corps’ Training School in Abuja, Dr. Audi, represented by the Assistant Commandant General in charge of Training and Manpower Development, ACG Muktar Lawal, mni, described VIP protection and tactical operations as highly sensitive assignments that demand absolute alertness, emotional intelligence, uncompromised integrity and strict compliance with rules of engagement.

“You are now distinguished ambassadors of the NSCDC. Your conduct must reflect the highest standards of professionalism, discipline and operational efficiency,” the CG Audi charged the graduates.

He reiterated his administration’s commitment to continuous capacity building, stating that the intensive VIP Proficiency Course 002 in Basic Tactical Skills and Weapon Handling was deliberately structured to equip participants with modern tactical expertise, precision weapon handling techniques and the mental resilience required for high-risk protective duties.

The NSCDC boss reminded the officers that the weapons placed in their care are symbols of public trust and must be handled with utmost responsibility and accountability.

The 208 successful participants were drawn from all 36 state commands, the Federal Capital Territory Command and the National Headquarters.

In a statement signed by the Corps’ National Public Relations Officer, CSC Afolabi Babawale, Anipr, the NSCDC reaffirmed its readiness to sustain training and retraining programmes in order to meet emerging security challenges in Nigeria.
