Indorama Demands Return As Empowerment Beneficiaries Sell Off Starter Packs

Indorama Eleme Petrochemicals Company Limited has condemned the sale of starter packs issued to beneficiaries of the recently concluded Indorama Host Community Skill Acquisition Programme.

The company declared the action by some beneficiaries as unacceptable, describing it as a direct abuse of empowerment initiative designed for youth upliftment.

In a statement on Monday, December 8, 2025, the General Manager, Government and Community Relations, Mr. Kendrick Oluka, revealed that the starter packs valued in millions of naira were issued in a bid to support beneficiaries to be self-reliant and productive after the training.

Oluka while expressing dismay over the act, noted that the company resolved that, “all host community representatives who nominated the affected beneficiaries will be invited for an urgent engagement to address this development.

“Beneficiaries will undergo a mandatory post-training verification and assessment to confirm that the starter packs issued to them are being used for their intended purpose.

“Any beneficiary found to have sold or diverted their starter pack will be required, without exception, to recover and return the items to Indorama and will be subjected to further administrative actions as deemed appropriate.”

He further reiterated Indorama’s commitment to youth empowerment and sustainable community development.

According to him, “discipline, accountability, and respect for corporate goodwill must be upheld to preserve the integrity of these interventions.”
