Presidential Committee Seeks NOA’s Collaboration on Enlightenment Campaign of the New Tax Law

The Chairman of the Presidential Committee on the New Tax Law, Mr Taiwo Oyedele says the law billed to commence in January 1st 2026 contains at least 50 exemption categories to ease business growth in the country.

Mr Oyedele stated this when he paid a courtesy visit to the Director General of the National Orientation Agency, NOA, Mr Lanre Issa Onilu.

He stressed the importance for the collaboration between the committee and NOA in enlightening Nigerians on the numerous benefits of the new laws for small scale businesses and firms.

” It was unfortunate that some misguided Nigerians were spreading the wrong narrative on the new tax laws and the Committee hopes to to reverse the trend. This is why we have to you to right this wrong narratives for Nigerians to know that the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu meant well for all” he stated.

In his response, the Director General of the National Orientation Agency, NOA Mallam Lanre Issa Onilu described the visit of the committee as apt stating that the NOA was already planning a national value enlightenment campaign.

Mallam Onilu said the Agency hopes to launch a Nigerian AI Chatbot tagged “CLIN” similar to Chat GPT to provide any information on Nigeria on Google.

” NOA, with over 800 offices nationwide manned by over 4,000 staff is determined to rewrite Nigeria’s value ideals for progress and gave assurance of Agency’s collaboration in spreading the good news of the New Tax Law” the NOA DG assured.

The visit featured the exchange of a National Value plague and a document containing the provisions of the new tax laws.
