In a noble pursuit to enhance the utility of Windows 11’s taskbar flyout calendar, Microsoft has announced that the wait is almost over. During the Ignite event, the company revealed details about a significant update scheduled for December.
An enhancement is planned for the calendar flyout, which can be accessed by clicking the taskbar clock. It will now provide an agenda view in addition to a quick-view calendar.
Users have long requested this improvement, and Microsoft is now prepared to provide. This update, anticipated to be made available in preview form in December, will give the calendar flyout a chronological list of forthcoming events, making it a more useful tool.

Microsoft has shared some insights regarding this forthcoming feature in a blog post related to the Ignite announcements:
”Do you need help organizing your day? Coming soon in preview in December 2025, the new Agenda view will be available directly in the Notification Center providing a quick-glance, chronological list of your upcoming events, seamlessly integrated with Calendar in a single interface. Users will also have the ability to interact directly with the events displayed in their Agenda view, such as joining a scheduled meeting or utilizing Microsoft 365 Copilot. This will facilitate preparation for upcoming meetings and help streamline your day.”
This is one of several changes and additions to Windows 11 that are not associated with artificial intelligence. However, it may not be long before Microsoft considers that even this straightforward feature could benefit from an infusion of AI.
