Nicki Minaj Uses UN Platform to Decry Killings in Nigeria

Global music icon and Trinidadian-born artist, professionally celebrated as Nicki Minaj, has leveraged her international platform to demand a concerted worldwide response to the deadly unrest plaguing Nigeria.

The renowned rapper delivered an impassioned address before the United Nations assembly this Tuesday, contending that followers of Christianity are increasingly the focus of violent attacks and fatalities in the nation.

Speaking with a voice heavy with emotion, Minaj identified the brutal killings as a critical issue that is intensifying and spreading to other regions across the globe.

“Back in way too many places… in Nigeria, Christians are being targeted, driven from their homes and killed. Churches have been burned. Families have been torn apart, and entire communities live in fear constantly simply because of how they pray.

“Sadly, this problem is not only a growing problem in Nigeria but also in so many other countries. And it demands urgent action. Protecting Christians in Nigeria is not about taking sides or dividing people. It is about uniting humanity,” she said.

The entertainer further elaborated on the pressing need for international involvement, stating that an individual’s choice of faith should never lead to their death or leave them defenseless.

Highlighting Nigeria’s rich cultural and spiritual history, she added, “Nigeria is a beautiful nation with deep faith traditions — and lots of beautiful Barbz that I can’t wait to see.

“When one’s church, mosque, or place of worship is destroyed, everyone’s heart should break just a little bit. And the foundation of the United Nations, with its core mandate to ensure peace and security, should shake,” she added.
