CAF Joins NFF to Celebrate Eagles’ Winger on His 28th Birthday

The Confederation of African Football (CAF), the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), and the Italian Serie A club Atalanta have all paid heartfelt tributes to Nigerian winger Ademola Lookman, who celebrates his 28th birthday today, October 20.

‎Lookman was born on October 20, 1997, in Wandsworth, Greater London, to Nigerian parents. In 2022, he switched his international allegiance from England to Nigeria and made his debut for the Nigerian national team against Ghana during the FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

‎Since that time, the former Everton forward has emerged as one of Africa’s premier talents, gaining international acclaim for his exceptional skills and consistent performance.

‎Lookman played a crucial role in Nigeria’s journey to the final of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), and his remarkable form earned him the CAF African Player of the Year 2024 award.

‎CAF marked the occasion with a post on its official X account.

‎“The crown fits. The continent knows. Another year of Ademola Lookman!”

‎The NFF also participated in the celebrations, referring to Lookman as “the pride of Nigeria.”

‎“Ademola Lookman celebrates his birthday today! Born in Wandsworth on 20 October 1997, the Nigerian winger is blowing out 28 candles on his cake today.

‎“Now in his fourth season wearing the Atalanta jersey, Ademola has made 122 appearances across all competitions, contributing 25 assists and 52 goals, including his memorable hat-trick in Dublin that secured our historic 2023/24 UEFA Europa League victory.”

‎The Italian club concluded their tribute with a heartfelt message.

‎“MANY HAPPY RETURNS, ADEMOLA!”
