Bonny Council Chairman, NLNG Leadership Meet on Strengthening Development Partnerships

The Chairman of Bonny Local Government Area, Amasenibo Hon. Abinye Blessing Pepple, DSSRS, on Friday October 10, 2025, met with the top management team of Nigeria LNG Limited (NLNG) to explore ways of deepening collaboration on developmental initiatives within Bonny Island.

‎The strategic meeting, held over an executive breakfast at Eko Hotel, Lagos, on the sidelines of the NLNG Grand Awards for the Nigeria Prize for Literature, formed part of the chairman’s ongoing engagements with multinational companies operating in Bonny.

‎During the discussions, both parties reviewed areas of mutual interest, including the implementation of the Bonny Master Plan, the proposed Bonny Fire Station project, and other community-centered initiatives designed to improve infrastructure and enhance the welfare of residents.

‎Hon. Pepple commended NLNG for its consistent contributions to the development of Bonny Kingdom through numerous social investment and capacity-building programmes. He reaffirmed the local government’s readiness to strengthen its partnership with the company to drive sustainable growth and inclusive development across the area.

‎Representing NLNG at the meeting were Dr. Sophia Horsfall, General Manager, External Relations and Sustainable Development; Godson Dienye, Manager, Government Relations and Regulatory Compliance; Michael Igoni, Head of Government Relations; and Kate Allison, Senior Government Relations Advisor.

‎The Bonny Council Chairman was accompanied by Rt. Hon. Kingsley Tammy Jumbo, Leader of the Bonny Legislative Council, and Warisenibo Tamunotonye Adolphus Jumbo, Secretary to the Local Government.

‎The meeting underscored the commitment of both the local government and NLNG to fostering strategic partnerships aimed at advancing Bonny’s socio-economic growth and improving living standards within the local government area.
