PinkNaija Walk Unites Port Harcourt in Health Drive

Port Harcourt woke up to a wave of energy and compassion this morning as the PinkNaija Walk 2025 took over the streets surrounding Captain Elechi Amadi Polytechnic, Rumuola. Organized by the EngracedLife Foundation, the event began promptly at 6:30 AM, drawing hundreds of participants from across Rivers State in a powerful show of solidarity, wellness, and advocacy.

The walk, now in its annual cycle, served as both a health awareness campaign and a celebration of resilience. Participants arrived in pink-themed outfits, many carrying placards and banners with messages of hope and encouragement. The event was not just about walking, it was a full-scale experience that blended fitness, creativity, and emotional reflection.

From live music and street theatre to tributes honoring breast cancer survivors, the atmosphere was electric. Volunteers and health professionals offered free screenings, while artists and performers kept spirits high. The crowd also took part in symbolic gestures like signing the PinkHeroes Wall and contributing to a collaborative string art project that marked the foundation’s anniversary.

One of the most moving moments came during the Survivors’ Celebration, where stories of courage and recovery were shared, reminding everyone of the importance of early detection and community support. The PinkHeroes Awards recognized individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to the cause.

As the sun rose over Port Harcourt, the PinkNaija Walk proved once again that advocacy can be joyful, inclusive, and deeply impactful, leaving behind not just footprints, but a legacy of hope.
