Nigeria’s U-20 Defeated Australia in World Cup Friendly

Nigeria’s U-20 men’s national team, known as the Flying Eagles, achieved a remarkable 3-1 victory against Australia in a friendly match held at the Complejo Deportivo Ruca Mapu in Santiago.

‎Goals from Tahir Maigana, Achichi Oseer, and Charles Agada ensured the triumph for the seven-time African champions, who are currently refining their preparations for the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile.

‎This outcome follows closely after the Flying Eagles were held to a 1-1 draw by the host nation, Chile, in their initial test match last Saturday.

‎Head coach Aliyu Zubairu conveyed his contentment with the team’s performance, emphasizing that they are steadily gaining momentum and confidence as the tournament approaches.

‎Nigeria is set to commence its campaign against Norway on Monday of next week, followed by matches against Colombia and Saudi Arabia in the group stage.

‎The 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup is scheduled to officially commence in Chile on Saturday, with Nigeria aiming to make a significant impact in the tournament and contend for their first-ever global title at this level.
