Dangote Refinery Stops Depot Pick-Ups, Pushes Free Delivery Option

The Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited has announced a suspension of self-collection of petroleum products from its loading gantries, effective Thursday, September 18, 2025.

In an internal circular seen by our correspondent, the refinery’s Group Commercial Operations Department explained that the move is designed to encourage oil marketers to embrace its Free Delivery Scheme, which ships products directly to filling stations.

The directive also seeks to curb transactions with unregistered buyers who either collect directly from the depot or source through intermediaries.

“This operational change is intended to improve efficiency,” the company stated, warning that payments for pick-up orders made after the effective date would not be accepted.

The memo added: “Effective September 18, 2025, Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals FZE has placed all self-collection gantry sales on hold until further notice. Kindly suspend all payments related to active PFIs for self-collection.”

Management assured marketers that its door-to-door delivery service remains active for both existing and new customers, urging them to complete registration for the scheme to enjoy smooth supply to their outlets.

“We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding as we implement this adjustment,” the company said.

The change marks another step in the refinery’s strategy to streamline operations and tighten product distribution controls as it scales output to meet rising domestic demand.
