The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has warned the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) against any attempt to manipulate the 2027 general elections, alleging that the party and President Bola Tinubu are “panicking” over Nigeria’s growing economic challenges.
Speaking in Abuja on Monday, PDP National Publicity Secretary Debo Ologunagba said opposition forces were becoming more united and prepared to reclaim power. He accused the APC-led government of running “a pyramid of lies and propaganda,” insisting its policies had failed to match citizens’ realities.
Ologunagba cited Tinubu’s recent claim that federal revenue targets had been met as of August, questioning how that tallied with hardship in markets nationwide.
“If you’ve met your revenue target, it should translate into surplus and relief for ordinary Nigerians. What we see instead is worsening inflation and declining purchasing power,” he said.

Reflecting on the PDP’s 16 years in office between 1999 and 2015, Ologunagba recalled how the party paid off Nigeria’s foreign debts and nurtured a more stable economy.
“The PDP understands governance and the constitutional duty of government to ensure the welfare and security of its people,” he added.
The spokesman accused the APC of sliding into “panic mode,” warning that any effort to subvert the people’s will in 2027 would be firmly resisted.
