‎Osimhen Flown Back to Turkey After Injury‎

According to a recent report, it has been stated that Nigeria’s Super Eagles will be missing their key striker, Victor Osimhen, when they face South Africa at the Free State Toyota Stadium on Tuesday.

‎The Galatasaray forward spearheaded Eric Chelle’s team against Rwanda at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo yesterday evening, and he believed he had netted the first goal within ten minutes, only for the linesman’s flag to signal offside.

‎Osimhen’s situation worsened after he was tackled by a Rwandan defender in the 28th minute. Following additional treatment from the Nigerian medical staff, the 26-year-old attempted to continue playing.

‎However, he was in visible pain and had to stop a few minutes later, removing his mask and requesting a substitution, clearly frustrated, before being replaced by Cyriel Dessers in the 35th minute.

‎Although Osimhen managed to recover from early signs of injury during Gala’s 3-1 victory over Rizespor, his setback against Rwanda is anticipated to sideline him for approximately two weeks. The striker is expected to arrive in Turkey tomorrow.

‎Okan Buruk, the coach of Cim Bom Aslan, has responded to the injury of his striker, describing the news as ‘disturbing.’

‎“He is currently unfit for the match in two days. We will see what unfolds. This is devastating news for tonight,” the 51-year-old stated in comments reported by Aktifhaber.

‎“Osimhen is clearly experiencing some pain. He has informed us. We took immediate measures. If he is not available for the national team, we want to bring him here as soon as possible for a medical evaluation.

‎“He is currently unfit to play in the next two days. We will see what happens. This is devastating news for tonight. We hope it is nothing serious. It is an injury we will manage as best as we can,” the Turkish coach concluded.
