Troops Arrest 69 Suspects, Confiscate Over 32,000 Litres of Stolen Products Across Niger Delta Region

The 6 division Nigerian army says it has continued to twarth the renewed mover by criminals to re-establish illegal oil bunkering sites in the Niger Delta region.

In the recent operations, conducted by troops of 6 Division, Nigerian Army in collaboration with other security agencies, Between 11 and 24 August 2025, significant recorded successes, including the deactivation of nine illegal refining sites, arrest of 69 suspected oil thieves and confiscation of over 32,000 litres of stolen petroleum products.

According to the spokesman of the 6 division Nigerian army lieutenant colonel Danjuma Jonah the operations were carried in Rivers ,Delta, Bayelsa and others areas across the oil rich region.

As the general officer commanding 6 division Nigerian army major general Eric Emekah commended the troops for their tireless efforts in making sure Niger Delta region is a no-go area for economic saboteurs.
