Rivers State Youths Ready for Local Government Election – Comrade Bani

The Rivers State Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria-NYCN, Comrade Nwisabari Bani has reiterated the readiness of youths for the upcoming local government election in the state.

Speaking during an interview with our correspondent, the NYCN chairman Comrade Bani while highlighting the importance of youth inclusiveness in politics, emphasized that young people are prepared to play an active role in the electoral process.

“People are gaining confidence in the process by the day and for us Youths, we are ready for the August 30th election, we will come out in mass to vote and be voted for.”

“Most of the LGAs have over 70-80 percent inclusion for the youth, not just social media . the youth are beginning to be involved and that really gives us encouragement to continue the advocacy for youth inclusiveness in governance” Comrade Bani said.

The Rivers State NYCN chairman commended the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission RISIEC for its efforts and advised the commission to further invest in voter registration to ensure wider participation.

“A lot of correction has been taken and for the police to say they have seen this process to be credible and they are ready to participate, that’s a pass mark for RISIEC.”

“We had an interface few days ago and I told them they have scored themselves very high and we have also scored them with what we have seen” he added.

Comrade Bani urged the incoming local government chairmen to prioritize the development of agriculture across all local government areas as h believes that focusing on agriculture will create opportunities for economic growth and development within the state.
