NDDC Hands Over Transformers, Solar Street Lights to Nigerian Army in Bayelsa

Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC has handed over three hundred KVA transformers and solar street lights to the Nigerian Army in Bayelsa State.

Performing the handover during the Inauguration on Monday at Sixteen Brigade Nigerian Army Yenagoa Bayelsa State Capital, Execute Director Projects NDDC, Sir Victor Antai explained that it was necessary to provide a conducive environment for the military to enable them secure both the region and oil installations.

Sir Antai noted that Peace in Niger Delta communities would be a catalyst to rural development.
“Federal government thought it wise to strengthen the security infrastructure of Bayelsa state by establishing army command here and also having the establishment to protect the oil facility in Niger Delta” he said.

Inaugurating the projects, Chief of Army Staff, COAS, Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede admitted that the projects by NDDC Would be a morale boost to troops in their efforts to ensure adequate security in Niger Delta region and nation at Large.

The Chief of Army Staff while appreciating NDDC for the gesture enjoined other organizations to toe the same path.
Our correspondent reports that other projects Inaugurated were One hundred and fifty six High tension concrete poles, ninety low tension concrete poles among others.
