“Live Within Your Means” – Rudeboy Counsels Couples After Davido’s Lavish Wedding

Rudeboy

Renowned Nigerian music star Paul Okoye, popularly known as Rudeboy, has advised couples against feeling pressured to emulate extravagant celebrity weddings, following the high-profile nuptials of Afrobeats sensation Davido and Chioma Rowland.

‎The P-Square member took to his Instagram story with a candid message:
‎He wrote, “Miami is catching fire. No allow anybody pressure you oh. Is a thin line between who you be and who your papa be.”

‎The post, which has since gone viral, serves as a reminder for couples to plan weddings based on their financial realities rather than societal expectations and competitiveness.

‎Davido, son of billionaire businessman Adedeji Adeleke, tied the knot in a grand ceremony attended by dignitaries, politicians, and A-list celebrities. The event, which spanned Lagos and Miami, featured luxury décor, designer outfits, and star-studded performances, setting social media abuzz.

‎However, Rudeboy’s timely intervention has sparked broader conversations about financial prudence in marital celebrations. Social media users have praised his stance, with many calling it a “necessary reality check” in an era of social media-induced pressure.

‎Relationship experts weighed in, supporting Rudeboy’s view. “A wedding should reflect a couple’s unique journey, not external validation,” noted marriage counsellor Funke Adebayo.

‎As debates continue, Rudeboy’s message resonates with young Nigerians navigating economic challenges while balancing societal expectations.
