‎Rivers Sole Administrator Swears In Eight New Permanent Secretaries

Abas

Rivers State Sole Administrator, Retired Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas, has sworn in eight new permanent secretaries into the State Civil Service.

‎Speaking during the swearing-in ceremony, which was held at the Executive Council Chamber, Government House, Port Harcourt, Retired Vice Admiral Ibas charged them to promote peace through good governance, as poor governance fuels instability.

‎While urging them to deliver impactful results that can improve the daily lives of the citizens, He noted that they were appointed at a time when the State is undergoing a delicate, but necessary transition with the Presidential charge to restore peace, stability and good governance.

‎While describing the civil service is the heartbeat of any administration, Retired Vice Admiral Ibas, noted that their emergence is not only timely, but strategic as the civil service has lost some of its most experience and committed officers to statutory retirement, leaving gaps that have impacted the effectiveness of the ministries, departments and agencies.

‎The Sole Administrator reminded the Permanent Secretaries that, as administrative heads, custodians of due process and the drivers of policy implementation, the clarity of policy direction and the integrity of government transactions depend largely on their capacity to lead with accountability and foresight.

‎He therefore urged them to drive institutional reforms, embrace innovation, challenge status quo, eliminate inefficiency, foster collaborations across ministries, departments and agencies and ensure accountability to all financial matters.

‎Those sworn in include Imaonyani Roselin Ephraim-George, Dabite Sokari George, Soibitein Duke Harry, Lauretta Davies Dimkpa, Uche R. Ideozu, Jeremiah Egwu, Nicholas Iminabo Wokoma and Vera Sam Dike.
