Hon. Cyril Hart, Member of the House of Representatives for Degema/Bonny Federal Constituency, has been nominated for the Distinguished Merit & Outstanding Modern Achievers (DMOMA) Award of Excellence and Leadership 2025 in the category of Most Engaging and Accessible Federal Lawmaker.
The DMOMA Awards, organised by the BOT in partnership with Online Media Practitioners, is one of West Africa’s foremost recognitions of leadership and excellence. Its 6th edition is scheduled to hold on December 13, 2025, at the Hilltop Event Centre, GRA, Port Harcourt.
Hon. Hart’s nomination recognises his accessibility to constituents, selfless service, and contributions to nation-building. Under his stewardship, the Degema/Bonny constituency has recorded significant gains in infrastructure, empowerment, education, healthcare, and legislative advocacy.
Key interventions include: Solar street lighting projects across Bonny and Degema communities. Empowerment; Industrial machines, SME grants, and youth training in agro-allied ventures.

Scholarships for over 300 students, classroom projects, and donations of learning materials. Medical outreach, supply of equipment, renovation of Finima Health Centre’s children’s ward, and recruitment of a paediatric consultant.

Sponsorship of public petitions, tax reform advocacy, oversight of MDAs, and calls for Host Community Development Trusts implementation. Free festive transport services, employment facilitation, and consistent grassroots engagement.

Beyond constituency projects, Hon. Hart has been a vocal advocate on national issues, including equitable distribution of gas flare penalty funds, reactivation of floating filling stations in riverine areas, compensation for Eastern Railway Corporation workers, and the creation of an additional state from Rivers State.
He also represented Nigeria at the World LNG Conference in Berlin, where he championed gas monetisation and greenfield projects for NLNG Trains.
