Police Extend Tinted Glass Permit Deadline

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, has announced a new deadline of October 2 for the enforcement of the tinted glass permit.

The previous deadline of August 12 was moved to allow the force more time to review a high volume of applications and enhance security protocols.

According to Force spokesperson Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the extension is necessary to ensure that only qualified individuals receive permits.

The police are carefully assessing each request to align the issuance process with national security standards. This careful review aims to prevent the misuse of permits and maintain the integrity of the system.

The police have seen a significant increase in applications submitted through the official portal, possap.gov.ng.

This high volume has prompted the force to refine its digital and physical verification processes.

Adejobi urged all applicants to use only the official portal and to report any instances of extortion, unauthorized charges, or improper processing to the police hotline: 08147818871.

The IGP expressed gratitude to the public for their cooperation, stating that the measure is designed to balance public convenience with strong security measures.
