Cult Clash Leaves Five Dead in Rivers Community

A violent clash between rival cult groups has claimed five lives in Obele Community, Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State.

Sources revealed that suspected cultists invaded the community late Wednesday night, targeting specific individuals. The assailants reportedly moved from house to house in search of their rivals, executing their victims in different locations.

A local resident, who requested anonymity, disclosed that some of the victims were related to members of the opposing cult group. Two of the deceased were allegedly part of the rival faction, intensifying suspicions of a retaliatory attack.

Confirming the incident, Rivers State Police Command spokesperson, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, stated that seven suspects had been arrested in connection with the killings.

“Yes, I can confirm the incident. Five persons were killed, and seven suspects are currently in police custody,” Iringe-Koko said.
