When the charge was read to him in Court, Piller Erekwa pleaded guilty to sexually abusing a fifteen-year-old girl in Mgbuola village between December 2022 and January 2023, thereby committing a crime punishable by the law of Rivers State.

The Chief Magistrate adjourned the case for facts and sentencing, remanding the Pastor to Port Harcourt Correctional Centre pending his sentencing on July 19, 2023.

The suspect was arrested Thursday, July 6, 2023, at Ndele by the Rumuji Police Division and later transferred to State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) for further investigation.
