The legal team of the Labour Party’s Presidential Candidate, Peter Obi says INEC tendered unreadable election results during its defence at the ongoing Presidential Election Petition Tribunal.

INEC on Tuesday, closed its defence against Obi with the calling of one witness, Lawrence Bayode. an ICT staff of the commission.

Speaking with newsmen at the end of the court session, Obi’s lead counsel, Patrick Ikwueto (SAN) wondered why INEC would receive unreadable election result sheets and still went ahead to declare the presidential election in favour of Bola Tinubu.

You recall that INEC which conducted the February 25 presidential election, declared Tinubu the winner of the poll, having scored over eight million votes to defeat Atiku Abubakar of the PDP, Obi of the Labour Party and other candidates.

“What are on the forms EC8A are what supposed to be on the IREV. But in this case, we have forms EC8A and IREV copies certified by INEC which are completely blurred. The documents are so unreadable, containing strange pictures and images.

“The INEC Director on ICT was given some copies of the forms EC8A and asked by the court to tell how many scores were on the copies and he found it difficult to see what were on the documents because every thing was blurred.

“So, I wonder on what basis did INEC announce the election results when the documents are uncleared and not readable,” Obi’s lawyer said.

Meanwhile, other respondents. Tinubu and Kashim Shettima are still defending their case as of the time of filing this report. Thereafter, APC will enter its defence before all parties will adopt their final written addresses before the election court.
