A political group under the aegis of the Rivers Voice of Freedom has allegedly accused the Chairman of Ahoada West, Hope Ikiriko of attacking the Rivers State SDP guber candidate, Magnus Abe with thugs.
The group who condemned the attack through its President – General, Dominic Dumekpigi told our correspondent that the council chairman sent his thugs to attack the SDP guber candidate in order to prevent Abe from freely campaigning in Ahoada West.
“We condemn this barbaric attack on Senator Abe which was perpetrated by some thugs sent by the chairman of Ahoada West, Hope Ikiriko.
“Nobody has the monopoly of violence. Therefore, we warn that such attack should not happen again on Magnus Abe.
“We also call on the youths to desist from being used by politicians to terrorize other perceived political opponents in the state.
“We urge the youths to be wise enough to ask politicians to use their own children for thugery and stop using the children of other parents to cause violence in the state.”
The group further berated the ruling Peoples Democratic Party in the state for using violence as tools in promoting political agenda.
“We urge all Rivers sons and daughters to get their PVCs and vote out any government or politician who is promoting violence in the state,” the group said.
