I have met Wike five times to resolve PDP crisis – Atiku

The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Atiku Abubakar says he has tried to resolve the intractable crisis rocking the party but to no avail.

Recall that five governors of the party pulled out of the presidential campaign council over the refusal of Iyirchia Ayu to resign as national chairman.

The G-5 governors made up of Nyesom Wike of Rivers, Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia, Seyi Makinde of Oyo, Samuel Ortom of Benue and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu refused to support the former vice president until Ayu resigns.

The crisis has weakened the party’s campaign ahead of the 2023 presidential election.

However, speaking on the crisis on Sunday during the Channels TV town hall meeting, Atiku said the problem was not from him.

He said “I have met Wike five times: two times in Port Harcourt, two times in Abuja and one time in London. The problem is not from me”.
