Rivers United contingent comprising of players and officials will depart Lagos on Friday via Asky Airline with the flight expected to have a brief stopover in Lome, Togo.

The Pride of Rivers is scheduled to depart the Murtala Muhammed International Airport Lagos this morning for the crucial second leg 2022/2023 CAF TotalEnergies Champions League preliminary round tie against Watanga FC of Liberia.

The NPFL champions hold a three-goal advantage having defeated Watanga FC 3-0 at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium on Sunday with goals from Kenechukwu Agu, Ebube Duru, and Paul Acquah.

Technical Manager Stanley Eguma insists his side is set up for victory come Sunday in Liberia.

“We are not going to defend in Liberia because we know if we do that, it only means we may give away the 3 goals, so we are going there to attack and see how we can get goals.”

The second leg is scheduled for the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex in Paynesville on Sunday and the kickoff is 5pm Nigeria time.
