2023: Don’t repeat 2015 bloodshed, OSPAC warns ONELGA politicians

Brave Dickson

The ONELGA Security Peace and Advisory Council (OSPAC) in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers State has warned do-or-die politicians not to repeat the mass killings that characterised the 2015 general elections.

The barbaric killings in 2915 were allegedly caused by some politicians who were bent on winning the election at all cost.

In a chat with our correspondent, the Secretary-General of OSPAC, Gift Ohia said, “we are ready to deal decisively with anyone, including politicians who will want our area to have a repeat of what happened in 2015.

“Senseless killings which were largely caused by politicians continued from 2015 down to 2016 in ONELGA.

“We have established a strong synergy with the military and police to ensure that 2023 general elections remain peaceful in ONELGA.

“We are also using this medium to call on political thugs to avoid ONELGA as we will not spear any troublemaker this time around.”

The vigilante group further urged the people of ONELGA to participate in the forthcoming elections peacefully, insisting that their protection is guaranteed.
