Rivers 2023: Omehia rejects calls to join race, says Wike’s presidential ambition more important

Former Governor of Rivers State, Sir. Celestine Omehia has reacted to calls for him to join the 2023 governorship race in the state.

The former governor said his ambition is second class to the presidential aspiration of Governor Nyesom Wike.

In a statement on Friday, Omehia said the calls for him to join the gubernatorial race is from a place of goodwill, but noted that he is not ready to contest following the presidential ambition of Governor Wike.

He said Wike’s ambition is important to him and called on his supporters and followers to support the Governor to receive the presidential ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The Rivers PDP chieftain maintained that Wike is the best man to tackle the problems bedeviling the nation and lead the party to victory in the 2023 presidential election.

He, therefore, urged residents and all Nigerians to excersice their rights by ensuring that they vote in the right leaders to pilot the affairs of the nation.
