Gunmen rob popular phone shop in Khana

Armed robbers have robbed a popular phone shop in Ueqwere Boue Community in Khana Local Government Area of Rivers State.

The gunmen stormed the phone shop at about 7.30 pm, carting away all phones in the shop.

The owner of the shop, Baridura Ebabari who narrated the incident to our correspondent said the armed robbers threatened to shoot her while robbing her shop.

She said, “I was in the shop with my husband when some armed robbers numbering three stormed our shop.

“The armed robbers pointed guns at us and asked us to lie down.

“The armed robbers carted away all the phones in our shop and left our shop empty for us.

“Phones they robbed worth millions of naira and we have reported the matter to the traditional authority of our community who had promised to do something about it.”

Meanwhile, the people of Ueqwere Boue Community have raised alarm over alleged plans by some suspected bad boys to attack their community.

The Former Community Development Committee Chairman of the community, Godknows Ipianeh identified the suspects as: Oscar Ipiagbo, Batam Yoronee and Saaronee Bakpo.

The community further urged the general public to hold the boys responsible if the community gets attacked again.
