Teacher dies after being attacked by student in Delta

A Senior Secondary School student has allegedly beaten his teacher to death in the Abraka area of Delta State for punishing his younger sister.

The student identified as Michael Ogbeise beat the teacher, Ezeugo Joseph, to death for flogging his younger sister.

The incident occurred at a private school in the university community of Abraka when the teacher reportedly flogged one of his students, Promise, said to be the boy’s younger sister.

However, unable to bear his sister being beaten by the teacher, Ogbeisei beat up the teacher, leading to his death.

The late Ossai was, until his death, was in charge of Agricultural Science and Biology in the school.

Confirming the development, the state’s Police Command spokesperson, DSP Bright Edafe, said the student attacked the teacher, who collapsed in the process.

“The story is true. The young man attacked the teacher, who collapsed in the process. The girl is now under protective custody, but her brother, who effected the killing, has bolted away.

“We have nothing to do with his parents. Our focus is to get the boy arrested,” he said.

He also disclosed that the teacher was confirmed dead in a hospital before his body was deposited in the morgue.
