Assembly approves Wike’s request to sell gas turbine

Rivers state House of Assembly has approved Governor Nyesom Wike’s request for the sale of Rivers state gas turbine generator unit and accessories abandoned in Netherland and other wasting power assets.

The house granted the request of the Governor during plenary on Tuesday.

Governor Wike in a letter to the house read by the speaker reminded them that the Rives state government had in 2012 bought the gas turbine generating unit from the then Auston Switzerland now General Electric.

Governor Wike said the gas turbine generating unit was abandoned at the vebridge Zealand seaport terminal at the Netherland.

The house also passed the 2022 to 2024 medium term expenditure framework total revenue projection in the document amounting to over four hundred and eighty three billion naira with the total expenditure projected at same amount as revenue projection.

Recurrent expenditure is projected at over one hundred and fourth four billion while capital expenditure is projected at over three hundred and fourteen billion naira.

Our correspondent reports that the house also approved the request of governor Wike for accessing the bridging finance fund of eighteen billion two hundred and twenty five million, three hundred and thirty six thousand one hundred and three naira eighty nine kobo.
