A legal practitioner and ranking member of Ohaneze Ndi-Igbo, an apex Igbos socio-cultural group, Dimm Uche Okwukwu says Igbos are desirous to produce a President not minding the state, hence the president is of the Igbo extraction in Nigeria.

He said the purported secession bid by the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, will not deter the desire of Igbos to produce the president, adding that prominent Igbos and a majority of Igbos at the grassroots are not in support of Nnamdi Kanu’s bid of IPOB.

In furtherance, he disputed the allegation that the Igbo leaders sold themselves out in the way and manner they received President Mohammadu Buhari, during his visit to the South-East.

He adding that it is in Igbos culture to first receive a visitor before further any discussion.

“The Igbo political leaders and traditional leaders as our culture permits had to receive the president first and later issues bothering the region were discussed to make progress.

Reacting to the killing of Igbos in Oyibo, Rivers State, Okwukwu said a panel of inquiry should be set up to investigate the incident.
