One Samuel Nzidii and a pregnant woman were on Thursday killed after a motor park task force in Khana Local Government Area of Rivers State knocked them down.

Our correspondent reliably gathered that the task force attached to the Bori motor park was chasing a commercial vehicle at top speed when it knocked down the victims on a motion bike.

The victims were confirmed dead on the spot due to the fatality of the accident around the Bori/Yeghe axis where the incident occurred.

Speaking with our correspondent, the cousin of the deceased bike rider, Godwin Baribefii said the task force accosted the commercial vehicle for allegedly violating the loading rules of the area.

“The commercial vehicle zoomed off in an attempt to escape, leading to a top speed chase by the task force.

“While trying to overtake the commercial vehicle, the task force did not know that a motorbiker and a pregnant occupant were coming behind. Unfortunately, the two bike occupants were knocked down.”

The victim’s cousin also criticized the police for shooting sporadically at the scene of the accident which he said was unnecessary.

Another source from the area, Ipianeh Godspower clarified that the police only shot sporadically to prevent the invasion of the Bori motor park by angry mobbers who were on a rampage to vandalise the facilities of the park.
