The President, National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Sukubo Sara-Igbe Sukubo has warned the media to stop addressing Chijioke Ihunwo as the Rivers State Chairman of NYCN.

In an interview with our correspondent, Sukubo maintained that Ihunwo has been on suspension right from when he Sukubo and Ihunwo were state chairman and vice chairman of NYCN.

Sukubo said, “the suspension on Ihunwo has not been lifted, meaning Ihunwo is not even qualified to be called vice chairman, let alone chairman.

“The media should stop addressing Ihunwo as state chairman. He was suspended over anti-youth activities.

“Ihunwo is a youth leader of PDP not NYCN. The duly elected state chairman of NYCN is Nwisabari Bani.”

Sukubo further said any media or group or government that addresses or recognizes Ihunwo as state chairman of NYCN is an enemy to the peace and development of the youths.

You recall that shortly after Bani was elected as the state NYCN chairman, the state government through Governor Wike’s adviser on security matters, Dennis Ekaro went and recognized Ihunwo as the state chairman of NYCN.

The recognition necessitated some media houses to address Ihunwo as the state NYCN chairman which Sukubo had reacted angrily against, describing the action of Wike’s adviser as gravely senseless.
