A young Nigerian man identified on Twitter as Kalu Othy has narrated how he was unlawfully detained and harassed by men of the ONELGA security Peace and Advisory Council, popularly known as OSPAC along Aluu/Omagwa road in Ikwerre local government of Rivers state.

Kalu wrote that he was profiled as an internet fraudster because of the way he wore his hair and was carrying a laptop.

He had to bail himself with eight thousand naira with a machete on his face.

After he contacted the community leader, the said members of OSPAC were nowhere to be found except for one of them who refunded him a fraction of the eight thousand naira he had paid earlier for his release.

He wrote: “Nigeria really is in shambles. Just got robbed by some guys in PH called ‘OSPAC’ in Aluu-Omagwa road. Though the real Ospac doesn’t do this.

Their reason: “oboy this your hair…even laptop sef, you be yahoo boy. Come down!”

“N8k just to bail myself with a machete in my face.

“Called the community chief and the boys had run away.

“The only one there refunded me a fraction of the money. That was actually the cash he had on him because the other guys had dashed.”

Members of OSPAC have been accused of illegally detaining, torturing, and extorting of innocent persons in Rivers state.
