Police nab two for possession of live cartridges in Bayelsa

Operatives of the Anti-kidnapping unit of Bayelsa State Police Command have arrested two men in possession of live cartridges and a bag of Indian hemp in Bayelsa state.

Solomon Ibe and Chris Amuka were arrested at Ovom Waterside, Yenagoa prior to a tip off to a police.

The suspects were arrested while trying to ferry a bag, suspected to be Indian hemp and one hundred and twenty five rounds of live cartridges, to Southern Ijaw Local Government Area.

Public Relations officer of the state’s command, SP Asinim Butswat, has revealed that, the suspects are assisting the Police in its investigation.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police Bayelsa State Command, CP Mike Okoli, has urged the public to continue assisting them with useful information to curb crime in the State.
