The Port Harcourt Female Designers Fashion and Arts showcase went down yesterday at Hago Heights Events centre on Sunday and it was such a sight for sore eyes.
The Port Harcourt female designers fashion and arts showcase was held in commemoration of international women’s day. These are a group of women with the vision of uniting women in the fashion and arts industries in order to infuse synergy and progress amongst women in Port Harcourt.
The purpose of the fashion and arts showcase was to project the Port Harcourt fashion and arts females, designers and artists, to the world.
The event on Sunday went beyond our expectation as the event was filled with lots of upscale and fun activities that left us in our feels.
What are fashion shows without the red carpet? It is better left in the imagination than to be experienced. The res carpet of the showcase was filled with a colourful and fascinating display of classy, dashing and high-class fashion that left us wondering if we truly were in Port Harcourt or at London fashion week.
The fashion designers didn’t leave any stone unturned as they ensured that the guests marvelled at their crafts.
After all that went down on the red carpet, guests were asked to move around and have a feel of the pulchritudinous display of arts by the Port Harcourt female fine artist which was a sublime sight to behold.
There were arts displayed at the gallery that depicted womanhood, the struggles associated with African women in general.
After the viewing of the art, guests were treated to a light refreshment while DJ Big Joe kept the day pumped with good music.
The runway was the highlight of the event for me. Who doesn’t love to see beautiful models adorned in foxy dresses strutting to and fro the runway?
The first designer to showcase on the runway is ‘Tailored by Ash’. Tailored by Ash brought in a mixture of bridal ball gown flow with a touch of everyday wear that is evident in the shorts and kimono pair, not forgetting the thigh-high slit two-piece that speaks of nothing but elegance.
Ibee Blitz Couture brought in the designs that left you wondering why this particular showcase isn’t on all TV channels across the globe yet. With her high fashion ensemble, gowns spoke of a genteel display of talent.
Now, what’s not to love about Tess Clothier who ensured that guests are left perplexed with her craft. Her display of simple yet fascinating ensembles can be worn both for leisure and for any event at all.
Ogem Allen is able to combine a leisurely look with a modish look. With her display of uptown natty ensembles, you can tell that she is great at what she does.
With Ugonna Couture’s black statement on the runway, you can tell that black is such a versatile colour as she uses in creating alluring ensembles. From the asymmetric hand long gown to the checked shorts paired with a black top, all show what black can achieve.
What’s not to love about Omos’ artistic display of delightfully crafted clothes that has the designs of notable Nigerian women’s face designed behind the flowing cape of the dresses. The cloths have the faces of Ngozi Okonjo Iweala and Ibukun Awosika beautifully crafted on them.
With Loma Posh Designs that is a clear view of undisputable statuesque as her designs are Oscar red carpet-worthy. From the trident carrying model’s asymmetric dress to the angelic in black, these designs are beyond the basic.
Hazel Grace Styles brought in an infusion of the party, work and high fashion wear, the red carpet was a delight as the models strutted to and fro the runway in elegance and alluring beauty that was quite suited for the evening.
Styled by MGS brought the pressure all the way to a boiling point as they walked the runway styled with Grammy worthy runway flowing gowns that are particularly swanky.
Flash Factor Fashion and Beauty brought in a certain level of grand trendsetting, yet simple ensembles with a message to the audience on female empowerment and it’s benefits.
House of BO brought in the á la mode kind of fashion to the runway. We saw a display of chic and swanky ensembles from their beautiful collection. From the corset statement ball gown to the short elegant tube gown paired with a sheer long cape, House of BO was such a graceful sight to behold on the runway.
Then the runway was concluded with the dazzling, magnificent and delightful display by Jazz Effect Fashion.
The evening was such a perfect one with Port Harcourt’s own Legendary Suni’s performance.
Hair Port PH and Jojo’s Touch ensured the model’s hair and face beat were perfections.
It was indeed an evening of a showcase as guests were beyond satisfied with the turn-up of events.
