Neilladan Football Academy commences screening exercise in Port Harcourt

Fast-rising Port Harcourt-based academy, Neilladan Football Academy has restated its commitment to nurturing the abundant young football talents scattered around the state.

The three-year-old academy who were 2019 champions of the Keves Rivers State Championship are currently working on a partnership with a football academy in Benfica, Portugal and are poised to harness the potentials of numerous young footballers in the state while also affording them the platform to showcase their talents at the big stage.

Head coach of the Neilladan Football academy Utibe Ukpabio while speaking to newsmen during the screening exercise for young footballers across the state said the five-day programme is open to players within the ages of twelve and twenty-two.

”Neilladan Football academy is a good academy that develop young talents for a future professional stage of playing football. We are organizing a screening exercise from Monday 18th Jan-Friday 22 Jan 2021 where we can pick some young talents between the ages of 12-17 for registration and then 18-22 for non-registration. We have a contact in Benfica Football Club in Portugal to work with a particular agency there and the agency really wants us to have very young layers and that is why we are targeting young layers for the programme” he said.

The screening exercise will take place at Okoronodu Secondary School Rumuaholu by 4pm during the screening days.
