The Chairman of Ikwerre Local Government Area Samuel Nwanosike has berated the Federal Government over insecurity in Nigeria.

Samuel Nwanosike during an event to mark 2021 Armed Forces Remembrance Day Celebration said the rate of banditry and insurgency is at an alarming rate across the country.

Samuel Nwanosike said Nigerians deserve a better leader in the country and not the one being offered by the ruling All Progressives Party APC.

He said that bandits, terrorists, kidnappers and armed robbers are now operating smoothly across the country.

The Ikwerre LG boss also appealled to the security agencies to wake up from slumber and tackle the worsening security situations in the country.

”I am worried because, in 2014, a set of Nigerians put themselves together and decided to take over-power. And their manifesto was that the current leader then Goodluck Jonathan was not capable of handling the security situation in the country. But we’re shocked that six years into the administration of the current government, the insecurity situation has gone from bad to worse. Today our farms are no safer, our borders are no more in our hands, bandits come in and out of our nation doing whatever they like. And I will say that this is a clear challenge to the President of this nation and all the security chiefs”.

”We have not seen any results from our generals and in 2023 we don’t want any military general to come back to power because they have failed us. Security is everybody’s business if you see something say something” he said.

The Chairman of Ikwerre Local Government Area Samuel Nwanosike while commending the contributions of Nigerian Legions to national development also promised to build a Legionnaire secretariat in Isiokpo.

He said Ikwerre Local Government Area will continue to promote the welfare of Legionnaires in the area.
