Man, 38, defiles minor in Rivers

The Centre For Social Justice and Environmental Right Protection (CESJERP) has called for the prosecution of a 38-year-old man, Kpoobari Maama, who defiled a five-year-old girl at about 8:00pm on the 3rd of December, 2020 at B-Dere Community, Gokana Local Government Area of Rivers State.

Kpoobari, who has been arrested by the Police, had confessed to the crime.

Reacting, to the development, the Executive Director of CESJERP, Legborsi Yamaabana said that the suspect should be prosecuted without further delay.

The human rights activist said, ”we are elated by the news that the police have arrested the 38-year-old man who defiled a 5-year-old girl.”

“This development is pathetic and we call for maximum punishment for this devil in human form according to the laws of our land. Already he has confessed to the crime and therefore deserved not to be allowed to walk free.”

The Human & Environmental Rights Activist who doubles as the President-General of Ogoni Youth Federation said, the rapist is not supposed to cohabit with humans.

“He has betrayed every trust. We are worried that a 38-year-old man would take pleasure in defiling a five -year-old. This is sacrilegious. It is irritating”

Yamaabana said that his group would assist the police in ensuring that the suspect is prosecuted.
