Anger as FG fails to show up for meeting with South South leaders after 3 hours of waiting

Traditional rulers, youths and other political leaders of the South South Region expressed unreserved anger on Tuesday as the meeting between them and the Federal government could not hold over the absence of the FG team.

The FG team which was to be led by the Chief of Staff to the President, Professor Agbola Gambari did not show up after keeping the governors, traditional rulers, youths and other regional leaders waiting for more than three hours.

The meeting was scheduled to hold at Government House, Port Harcourt.

The waiting South South delegation were informed that the delegation from the Presidency which was to also include the Inspector General of Police, the Director General of the Department of State Security and eight Federal Ministers requested for the meeting to be rescheduled.

The Governors of the South South led by the Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa apologised for the absence of the FG team from meeting and keeping them in Port Harcourt for two days.

However, the Traditional rulers, youths and women maintained that the cancellation was an insult on the people of the region which would not be taken lightly.
