Rivers United Football Club has made Enyimba International FC goalkeeper, Theophilus Afelokhai, one of their top targets and the club is willing to pay a huge sum for the best safe hand in Nigeria Professional Football League NPFL.
The former Kano Pillars goalkeeper contract at Enyimba is set to expire and Rivers United Coach Stanley Eguma has listed Afelokhai among his top priority for the Garden City club as they hope for favorable results in the CAF Confederation Cup.
Rivers United is offering the keeper a tempting salary of N1.2m (one point two million naira) per month.
Afelokhai, according to a reliable source is tempted to accept the bumper Rivers United deal that will make him the highest-paid player in the NPFL.
The Home-Based Super Eagles goalkeeper currently earns N800, 000 as salary and Enyimba are willing to increase his salary to #1m to keep their first-choice goalkeeper to fend off interest from Rivers United.
He joined Enyimba in 2015 from Kano Pillars and has been the regular starter since signing on.
