Activists from the Ogoni extradition in Rivers State have warned politicians as they expressed their anger over the invasion of Joi Nunieh’s resistance by the police in Port Harcourt on Thursday.

Nunieh who was a former Managing Director, Interim Management Committee of the Niger Delta Development Commission is in a rift with the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio over embezzlement in billions from the NDDC.

It was learnt that some operatives of the Nigerian Police Force invaded Nunieh’s residence to whisk her away without an arrest warrant.

However, Governor Nyesom Wike waded in and took her to Government House.

When contacted by our correspondent, the State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Nnamdi Omoni promised to get back to him.

Also speaking with our correspondent, Comrades, Matthew Dighi and Keanyi Benson who all hail from Ogoni where Nunieh comes from warned that nothing should happen to her.

They said; “embezzlement has been in the NDDC since the inception of the commission and nobody should threaten Nunieh under any guise.”

The Activists said corrupt politicians are afraid of being exposed by Nunieh hence want to do everything within their reach to deal with her.

“We as activists from Ogoni will not fold our hands and allow anything to happen to Nunieh.

“Those fighting her should be very careful and trade with caution as we will not take it lightly if anything happens to her,” they warned.
