Amaechi mourns Kyari, says virus a respecter of no one

Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi, the Minister of Transportation, on Saturday condoled with President Muhammadu Buhari and the family of Malam Abba Kyari, the late Chief of Staff to the president.

Kyari died on Saturday morning after battling with Coronavirus.

The former governor of Rivers State in a statement in Abuja described Kyari as a seasoned and remarkable administrator who took his job seriously.

According to him, Kyari contributed immensely to the success of the Buhari administration.

“Today, I join Nigerians, members of the cabinet and staff of the presidency to mourn late Kyari and pray for the repose of his soul.

‘`I also pray that his wife, Mrs Kulu Abba Kyari, his family and loved ones find strength in this very trying time to bear this heavy loss,” he said.

Amaechi further advised Nigerians to take the coronavirus pandemic seriously and follow strictly all health safety protocols.

He added that the virus is no respecter of persons, hence safety measures must be obeyed to curb the spread of COVID-19.

“ Please adhere to the laid down health advisory, obey the restrictions and safety rules, so that together we can win this war, save more lives and come out stronger at the end of it all,” the statement added.
